The List That Never Ends

by Natalie on February 8, 2012

Hey, hey!

How’s the week treatin’ ya?

Mine has been moving right along in a speedy fashion…it feels like there’s always about 1,000,000 things on the list to get done!  Somehow it never becomes 999,999 ;)

Let me give you some of the highlights from the past few days, in terms of food and exercise:

Yesterday I had a FULL day with a presentation, work, and training!  My Tuesday class gets out at 12:30, which allows me to come home for lunch and I kid you not, this saves me like 20-minutes since I don’t have to pack a lunch.

For my workout, I did a 30-minute cardio circuit and it kicked my buns!  Here are the details:

Cardio Blast Circuit
1-minute of each exercise, three times through
stairs
jacks
jump rope
speed skaters
slalom jumps
burpees
high knees
quick feet
heismans
box jumps

I barely squeezed this workout into my day, so I was happy enough to get the 30-minutes!  Granted, I would have loved to do a little more, but such is a busy life :)   I ended with about 10-minutes of abs and pushups too.

This morning I started my day with a dog walk, some elliptical time, and a great BodyPump class.  This was the first time I have taught this release solo and it was a blast!  I know I’ve said it before, but I really think release 80 is a good one.  I’m glad that they’re incorporating more circuit style training into the program because I truly believe that’s what generates results!

Post-workout smooth-er:

In the mix:
·1 cup plain, organic kefir
·1/3 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
·1 cup frozen mixed berries
·1 tsp. raw honey

This was a perfect combo of complex carbs and protein for recovery…and tasted delicious too!

I spent the rest of the day at the gym working away before training an evening full of clients.

I have some homework to finish before heading to bed.  Tomorrow’s a big day:   early morning group, cardio, teaching boxing class, appointment, training, and class.  Phew!

I kinda can’t believe it’s already almost the weekend… :D

*TIP TIME*
Keep a container of washed baby spinach on hand for salads, to throw into smoothies or soup, or for wraps and sandwiches.  It’s an easy way to get an extra dose of greens!

So you mean I shouldn’t despise the new Body Pump release at the Rec with the jumping lunges and the crazy circuits in the shoulder track? I think we are technically a few releases behind you all, but I’m sore from yesterday’s launch. I know doing “new” things is good for me so I will just suck it up!

I feel the same way – I’m so excited to check something off my list, but when I go into that app, I add three more things to do! It’s all worth it to graduate though, right?

Great tip!! Washed greens are a convenient great way to sneak in the veg!
