I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was…well…busy! But in a good way. I had a bunch of social stuff planned and some fun outings with this one:
On Friday I woke up bright and early to head to campus for my Statistics Lab. We’re learning coding (not sure what it is exactly…yet ) and are using a statistical analysis software called “R”. If anyone knows anything about this program, send me an email. I will provide you with a plethora of healthy meals and personal training for the next 7-weeks if you can be my tutor. Seriously!
After lab I rushed home to walk the dog, then to work to get a bunch of management stuff done. I also had an “audition” where I got a workout from a trainer who applied for a position on our staff. After that workout, I met Elisa for a weight’s session and by the end my whole body was shaky. We focused on upper body again (avoiding any knee stuff for the time being) and did something similar to Wednesday…where we supersetted two exercises for the same muscle group. We ended with some killer abs too.
That night I ran from work to meet some friends to see Avengers in 3D. It was a blast! Although our group was split (two of us liked it, two did not), I thought it was exciting and entertaining. I don’t ever remember going to see a movie in 3D before and would definitely see another!
Since I ran straight from work to the movie, I picked up some broccoli and curried sweet potato salad to eat during the movie. Luckily we were one of the only groups in there…I’m sure everyone loved the smell
Saturday morning I got headed to the gym to teach BodyPump. I planned to get there extra early to test out running and I ended up knocking out a mile on the TM. I kept about a 9:20 pace and had NO pain whatsoever in my knee! SCORE!
I taught class, then did a little work before attending pump practice. We are releasing new choreography in July, so it’s time to start learning it! Between Friday’s workout and teaching class, my body was done.
I raced home to clean the house and get stuff ready for some friends to come over. I made a date with a few of my other health foodie friends to make homemade almond milk and kombucha, and yesterday was the day! We had so much fun and took tons of pictures…that I’m saving for a post later in the week.
After our kitchen adventures, we headed downtown to dinner. There were seven of us total and we had a late reservation at one of the hip and trendy local eateries. It was delicious food and even better company.
This morning I got a few things done around the house before venturing over to my friend Lowen’s (incredible) house for a brunch in honor of Jami.
Lowen and her husband have done a bunch of work on their house and it’s amazing. Seriously…from the wall colors, to the decor, and gorgeous garden, had she asked me to move in with them I wouldn’t have hesitated. Especially if it came with her cooking!
This weekend sure made me realize how lucky I am to have such a wonderful network of amazing friends!
In addition to the crazy drink making escapades this weekend, I also made some healthy bars that I haven’t yet tried. When I do, and if I deem the recipe “blog worthy”, I will share it this week as well, so stay tuned!
Okay, I’m off to bed. I have a FULL day tomorrow of clients, work, bachelorette watching with the girls, and homework.
See you soon!
Bring your own food/snacks into the theater. Not only will you save money, you will save your waistline too! Think outside the box. Try bringing in a frozen yogurt, a baggie of made-at-home popcorn, or your own single-servings of your favorite candy. You’ll leave the movie feeling satisfied without feeling sick!
Question: What was the highlight of your weekend?
