Quarter Repeats

Hey there…how’s it going?

Pretty good here!

Sorry for the missing blog post last night, I was elbow deep in cleaning and by the time I finished I was pooped.  My in-laws are coming this weekend and I used it as the perfect opportunity to do a deep clean.  I really don’t love cleaning and I realized it’s because my OCD completely shines through and it takes me forever because I try to wipe every dust particle from every baseboard and blind.

Anyhoo…

Yesterday I woke up early to attend a class on “Creating a Respectful Workplace”.  It was actually quite interesting and I was astounded at the number of people who report cases of bulling at work.  Yuck!  After the class, I met up with the rest of my team for a meeting, then we headed back to our main rec center for an afternoon filled with work.

I hurried home, walked the dog, then started cleaning.  Nearly three hours later I was sweaty and hungry, so threw together dinner in nearly 90-seconds.

This morning, after a good walk with the dog, I headed to the gym for some speedwork.  This was a great one!

Quarter Mile Repeats
walk @ 4.5 for .10 miles
jog @ 6.0 for .15 miles
run @ 6.7 for .25 miles
run @ 7.5 for .25 miles
jog @ 6.3 for .25 miles
repeat last 1/2 mile, 7 times
jog @ 6.0 for .15 miles
walk @ 4.5 for .10 miles

Post run I did this core/abs routine two times through:

15 Pushups
25 Tuck-Ins
25 Bicycle Crunches
1-min Plank
25 Supermans

I felt fantastic when it was all said and done :D

After cleaning up, I enjoyed a gorgeous grapefruit (peeled and eaten like an orange).

We had a meeting then broke for lunch.  I packed some of the leftover roasted red pepper/artichoke dip with chicken.  The combo was delicious and totally filling.

I worked the afternoon away, then headed over to another rec center to coach boot camp…and it was a fun one.  They worked in pairs/groups, but at their own pace.  I even pulled out all the equipment:  TRX, BOSUs, Bands, Gliders, Med Balls.  The time sure flew by!

This evening Colin and I ran a few errands (Target for curtains) and stopped at Chipotle for dinner.  I got a huge salad and am excited to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow :)

My next two days are filled with personal trainer and group fitness instructor interviews with demos, so wish me luck!

*TIP TIME*
Schedule a non-weekend day to do a chore or task you don’t like.  This will help you enjoy your time off, but still encourage you to get things done.

Good luck with the interviews! Too bad I don’t live closer – maybe you’d be interviewing me ;) haha

I am bookmarking this workout and especially love the tip. Did you make the artichoke-pepper dip? Sounds delicious.
