I hope you’re having a lovely week so far. I’m just popping in with a recap of the last few weeks, which have really flown by. I can’t believe we’re about 5-weeks away from meeting our girls! It’s definitely surreal.
Highlights of the Week(s):
Colin and I have been spending a ton of time together and a lot of time with friends. I think we both understand that life as we have known it for the past 14.5 years together is about to change dramatically, so we’re savoring every moment that we can just the two of us so we can savor all the good (and challenging!) times together as a family of four.
Last weekend I met a girlfriend for a pedicure and then we did a bunch of house stuff before meeting friends for dinner. One of Colin’s good friends from college was visiting before heading out on a backpacking trip so we swung by their house to catch up for a while.
I had a pretty crazy work week but it went super fast and before I knew it, we were meeting friends for dinner last Friday. We’ve been getting afternoon showers nearly every day since April and Friday was the first sunny evening, so we decided to hit up a patio for dinner and beers/iced tea. It was a fun night of conversation and laughter. Two of my girlfriends are going to Mexico for beach vacations in the next three weeks and to say I’m slightly jealous would be an understatement! I could definitely go for a margarita and a beach right now 😀
On Saturday Colin and I had an infant care class that lasted pretty much all day, but we kicked it off with a workout (more on that below) and ended with an evening of grilling, sitting on the patio, and laughing. It was so nice!
Yesterday I met a bunch of girlfriends for a day at the pool. It was just what I needed and I don’t think I got out of the pool for 3-hours! We had so much fun and I hope for a few more pool days before the girls come.
My goal has been to get in about three solid workouts per week and as much “activity” as I can manage. So far, it has worked pretty well and has been about perfect for my energy level. I’ve been trying to lift once per week and get in two cardio days in the form of walks, water aerobics, or another type of group fitness class.
This is the workout I did on Saturday morning and it was a great one:

1A. 15 Chest Flyes w/ Band
1B. 18 Overhead Presses w/ 10# Dumbbells
1C. 18 Tricep Kickbacks w/ 8# Dumbbells
2A. 25 Body-Weight Squats
2B. 15 Walking Lunges (each leg)
3A. 15 Reverse Flyes w/ Band
3B. 18 Bicep Curls w/ 10# Dumbbells
4A. 25 Pulsing Plie Squats (alternating lifting heels)
4B. 25 Lateral Band Walks (each leg)
This workout took me about 40-minutes total and I felt really good after!
Still, my appetite isn’t very strong but I definitely had a few weeks’ worth of good food and some delicious indulgences!

Even thought we had a bunch of social outings and I got dressed in “real” clothes for all of them, I kept meaning to have Colin snap a picture but we both kept forgetting. So this one will have to do for this week…in workout stuff, of course!
