How to Make the Perfect Salad
How to Create a Salad with Staying Power
*Start with leafy greens-romaine, spinach, arugula, mixed greens, etc.
*Add raw veggies-shredded carrot, sliced celery, chopped green onions, red peppers, cucumbers, etc.
*Add any cooked veggies-steamed broccoli, cauliflower, roasted root veggies, etc.
*Add cooked grains-quinoa, brown rice, barley, bulgur, etc.
*Add protein-beans, salmon, tofu, veggie burger, chicken breast, tuna, eggs, etc.
*Add healthy fat-nuts, avocado, olive oil and balsamic dressing, etc.
1. Put all ingredients in a large (or extra large
) bowl and drizzle with dressing of choice. I like to end with the greens so my grains don’t soak up the dressing.
2. Mix up gently with tongs.
3. Plate and enjoy
